Let’s start this post by ignoring the fact that I haven’t blogged in 8 days ok? Thanks for playing along!
Today I am going to share a polish with you from Literary Lacquers *shocking eh?*, yeah, I am kind of addicted. Amy has an entire new line over at Literary Lacquers, called Literary Liquors. No, you can’t drink it. But you CAN get out that Apple Jack and have a cocktail, or three, with me while you marvel at this beauty! (do not drive after viewing this polish, I mean drinking that cocktail, I started without you oops)
And here is the recipe! Put all of this stuff
2 ounces of Apple Jack
1 ounce of fresh lime juice
1/2 ounce of Classic Grenadine
into a cocktail shaker with some ice and do the Macarena for awhile. Then strain it into your prettiest glass and stick an apple slice on it, it will look like this…..if it doesn’t, drink two and then I promise your third one will look JUST like this one.
But WAIT, there’s MORE!
The polish! hehe
In The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway, Jake orders one while he is waiting in the Crillon Hotel for Lady Brett Ashley, she never shows.
This is what she missed out on…..Jack Rose has you covered for all of your Fall adventures. A warm coppery brown that seems to change like a chameleon, I can’t take my eyes off of this.
In some lighting it is honey and in others it just throws facets like the good cut crystal you aren’t drinking out of right now.
(indoors with flash)
and onto some fun stuff and different lighting.
I want to note that I am really trying with my photos, holo’s are so hard to photograph without blurring but I am working on it! I am super excited for my phone upgrade in October because I am getting the Samsung S4 and have already purchased my micro lens, so woot!
I just had to include this because it was so cute. It is already fall here in Alaska and these little (non edible Mario-like) mushrooms are popping up all over.
Crunchy leaves already! The Birch leaves here are the first to go
This is sunlight and shadow outside.
(because we do not have sunlight and shadow INside, cheers!)
Should we not show the Hula girl some love? She works so hard on the dash (sings “She works hard for the money!”) Oooh I should paint her nails with this!
This is outside when it was overcast. I got a package today!
You don’t see my address there ok? LOL
These last two photos were taken with my little Starfish guy, I love using fun props and sometimes my props just volunteer. I guarantee you that you will sometimes find a cat hair floating on the end of my nail, so I just saved you from emailing me and saying “Hey there is a cat hair on your nail loser.” :p
So what do you think? Do you love Jack Rose as much as I do? Do you understand what huge meaning that has when I say it? I never wear anything but blue or green and in between but this I couldn’t wait to put on!
As usual Amy’s holo’s are easy peasy to apply. Smooth as buttah and no balding.
Jack Rose is a sheer holo, even with three coats I had vnl so if you want total opacity I would put on some underpanties, I’d recommend any nude polish.
BUT! the bonus here is that one coat of Jack Rose makes for the perfect office holo!
It is demure and charming, then the light from your desk lamp hits it and it sparkles like your big fat engagement ring! If you don’t have a big fat engagement ring and want one just have another Jack Rose cocktail and you won’t care about that either.
Run over to Amy’s Etsy (say that three times fast) shop and order the entire line! I will be showing you some more of them this week so come back and see them. You can pretend my blog is a board book if you don’t like the chatter.
I also highly recommend that you read the books these polishes are based on and then come and discuss them with us over here at Literary (&) Lacquer. See you there!
